CSIRO Spectroscopy Database News
Update v8.1.1
This is the first post of the CSIRO Spectroscopy Database news feed, which was added with the v8.1.1 update. New features and new datasets will be announced here from time to time, and you can subscribe to the RSS feed to keep track of changes.
Other changes in this update include:
Spectrum plot changes
- Styling changes to be more consistent with OpticalFit, for example: Xenotime-(Y) CL.
- Adoption of a spectrum colour palette that is more supportive of people with colour vision deficiencies.
- More descriptive labels in the spectrum plot legend, including specimen name (for reflectance spectroscopy).
- Using round numbers for spectrum plot axis check marks.
- Fixed support for spectra with wavelength units of μm.
Pages for specimen details
- Addition of pages for each specimen (e.g. NR162 Diopside), including specimen images, links to publications, details about locality, XRD analyses, and chemical analyses (if available).
- Links to specimen pages are now included on:
- the each material's page, in the list of specimens (new),
- the measurement details page, and;
- the spectrum search results pages for reflectance spectroscopy.
Reflectance spectroscopy changes
To better support users of infrared reflectance spectroscopy, the following changes were made:
- The ability to download reflectance spectra, as tab-delimited text files, from the search results and the measurement details pages.
- Displaying specimen purity in search results, based on QXRD analyses (see example).
Other changes
- Fixed aspect ratio of images on material and specimen pages.
- Improved page headings, including alignment to page contents, and writing chemical formula in material page headings (e.g. muscovite).
- Limited width of static pages for wide monitors (e.g. About page)
